ME

Tanya (Tatyana) Finkelshtein (Gendalf), MA, RCC, CCC

I have worked in mental health for around 15 years. At the beginning of my career, I worked with severe mental health conditions, such as schizophrenia. Later, my interest moved to other areas, such as trauma, grief, death, parenting, special needs kids, career, attachment issues, family conflict, depression, anxiety, war, loneliness, immigration, relationships, and existential crises.  I believe that each person is unique and they are experts in their life. I can support them in their journey, there they decide to go.

I support children and youth struggling with ADHD, mood swings, fears, anger management, and low self-esteem. I also help couples with premarital difficulties, infidelity, conflict resolution, separation, multicultural issues, and immigration challenges.

​

My work is grounded in Family Systems and Attachment theory.  I use a number of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Gottman couple therapy, and Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy. I am a trauma-informed therapist, and I also incorporate several mindfulness-based and expressive art psychotherapies in my work.
